Removal

  1. 1
    Remove the 8 mm special bolt.
    Transmission case end showing the 8 mm special bolt, release arm and release bearing assembly to be removed.

    Remove the release shaft and release bearing assembly.
  3. 3
    Separate the release arm from the bearing by removing the clip from the holes in the release bearing.

    Check the release bearing for excessive play by spinning it by hand.

    Replace the bearing with a new one if there is excessive play.
    CAUTION: The bearing is packed with grease. Do not wash it in solvent.
