  1. 1
    Pull out the evaporator sensor from the evaporator fins.
    Exploded view of the evaporator assembly: upper housing and lower housing, the finned evaporator core, expansion valve, two O-rings (replace), thermostat, and the tapping screws/clips. Insets show the tape-wrapped capillary tube against the suction line and the capillary tube location detail.

    Remove the tapping screws and clips from the housing.
  3. 3
    Carefully separate the housings and remove the evaporator covers.
  4. 4
    Remove the expansion valve if necessary.
Assemble the evaporator in the reverse order of disassembly, and: • Install the expansion valve capillary tube against the suction line, and wrap it with tape. • Reinstall the evaporator sensor in its original location.
