Positioning Crankshaft Before Installing Timing Belt
NOTE
Install the timing belt with the No. 1 piston at TDC (Top Dead Center) of the compression stroke.
Align the camshaft pulley "UP" mark and the TDC mark with the cylinder head upper surface. Align the pointer on the belt cover with the white-painted TDC mark. With the engine installed, turn the crank with a socket wrench and extension in the direction of rotation as shown.
