    Screw each tie-rod into the rack while holding the lock washer so its tabs are in the slots in the rack end.
    NOTE: Install the stopper washer with the chamfered side facing out.
    Tie-rod end and boot assembly: stopper washer, lock washer (replace), slot, boot band, boot, tube clamp; detail circle shows the lock washer tab bent into the slot.

    Tighten the tie-rod securely, then bend the lock washer back against the flat on the flange as shown.

    Install the boots and secure with boot band and tube clamp.

    Install the air transfer hose and clamp with transfer clips as shown.

Installation

    Re-install the gearbox in the reverse order of removal.
  2. 2
    Tighten the gearbox mounting bolts.
    22 N·m (2.2 kg-m, 16 lb-ft)
    40 N·m (4.0 kg-m, 29 lb-ft)

    Connect the fluid lines to the control unit.
