Retractor Inspection
- 1With the retractor installed, check that the belt can be pulled out freely.

- 2Make sure that the belt does not lock when the retractor is leaned slowly up to 15° from the mounted position. The belt should lock when the retractor is leaned over 45°.CAUTION: Do not attempt to disassemble the retractor.
- 3Replace the belt with a new one if there is any abnormality.
On-the-Car Belt Inspection
- 1Check that the belt is not twisted or caught on anything.
- 2After installing the anchor, check for free movement on its retaining bolt. if necessary, remove the bolt and check that the washers and other parts are not damaged or improperly installed.
- 3Check the belts for damage or discoloration. Clean with a shop towel if necessary.CAUTION: Use only soap and water to clean.
- 4Check that the belt does not lock when pulled out slowly. The belt is designed to lock only during a sudden stop or impact.
- 5Make sure that the belt will retract automatically when released.
- 6Replace the belt with a new one if there is any abnormality.
Rearview Mirror - Replacement
- 1Remove the rubber damper.

- 2Pry the cover off using the end of a flat-tip screwdriver.
- 3Remove the 3 mounting screws from the mirror base, then remove the mirror assembly.
- 4Remove the base from the bracket by removing the screw.
